I Forgot Who I Was

Slowly I walk a path

Taking no notice to anything around me

I just want to get this over with

Please just let this go quickly.

I come to a clearing where I can sit

A familiar, yet unknown person comes to me

For a little while

I get to forget who I am

Forget where I live

Forget all about me.

When he lets go of my hand

And dissapears

To live his life

I remember again.

I remember the path

The long, meaningless walk

I was forced to take.

The seasons are a task

In a life that strangles you;

Rather than embracing you.

Good feelings make you think

You aren’t quite being yourself

That when they are over,

Because they always are,

You’ll go back to being as meaningless

As you were before.
