Don’t confuse my words with my heart;
I am his, totally and completely.
Today I saw a photograph of him
After a haircut
And I smiled
Because right there
In that little frame
Void of a smile
With the frustration of dealing with me
Seen on his face
Is my home.
He is where I lay my worries
Where I have my heart
Where my mind wanders
When I have everything to think about
But I only want to think of him.
He is the reason I don’t distrust anymore
The very single clarity I have in my life
When I know nothing at this moment
I know he is mine.
He gives me loyalty and devotion
I’ve never had before
A steady hand in an unsteady world
He is my home.
