Welcome To Reality

They say love will find you

When you least expect it

So you pretend not to

And act surprised when someone says it

So you can be dissapointed

When they turn out to be

Just like everyone before them.

They say someone is waiting for you

But are they really just sitting around

Waiting for you to knock on their door?

Should you get dressed and go knocking on doors?

How many will you knock on, before the police are involved?

Why do they say this?

To make you feel better?

To make you feel like you aren’t really completely alone

That someone somewhere is frantically searching

Just specifically for you.

There is nobody sitting and waiting for you to knock

Nobody frantically looking for you

You won’t fall in love tomorrow with a dark stranger

That will make all your dreams come true.

Welcome to reality

We’ve missed you.

  1. I don’t know this for sure, but if I were female I think I would be very suspicious of dark strangers. I do believe there’s someone for almost everyone, and you really don’t need to be the slipper-bearing prince to discover them. It happens, and if it isn’t always in a burst of coloured lights, it’s as well to remember the slow-burning log will warm your toes for longer on those winter nights. Why am I going on for so long on this? I don’t know. Am I on some kind of mission?
