The Cloud

Wisps of rain

Volumes that speak

Though nothing is heard

Grasping the one truth

She believes

With everything.

Yet it is only water

Dangling in air

She clutches a cloud

In reality

a  nothing.

Then wonders

Why she is so wet

And has nothing

To show for it.

Yet her longing for it

Leaves her standing outside

Wondering why

She couldn’t keep

The one thing

That made her

So temporarily
