The Color of Grace

The opposite of love isn’t hate

It is being unreciprocated.

The opposite of peace isn’t war

It is disobedience.

The opposite of life isn’t death

It is severe depression.

The opposite of darkness isn’t light

It is freedom.

A candle flame dances

As she gently blows it out.

He fancied himself a leader

But lacked significant clout.

Wings of an angel

With a disenchanted face.

You can’t blame the fire

For not knowing the color of grace.
